To meet this demand, we are growing our team and seeking experienced Senior Consultants to lead this work.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a senior, customer-facing role for a Microsoft-certified consultant who specialises in enterprise Copilot adoption and Security. You will guide enterprise customers through the full journey from initial envisioning and readiness through to secure deployment, enablement and long term value realisation.
At the core of our vision is to help customers establish as trusted, safe and scalable enterprise wide AI capability.
You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define use cases, assess organisational readiness and align Copilot capabilities to measure business outcomes. These incudes evaluating identity and data foundations; Shaping operating models and ensuring the necessary governance, security and compliance controls are in place to enable safe and scalable AI adoption.
You will work with senior stakeholders, design pragmatic solutions on the Microsoft platform, and help our customers unlock the value of Copilot with confidence.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this position, you have proven experience in a Senior Security Consulting role with strong, demonstrable expertise across Microsoft Purview and the Microsoft 365 Copilot adoption lifecycle. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trusted Pathways for Copilot Adoption
* Lead Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness assessments, identifying oversharing, permission sprawl, and data security risks before deployment.
* Design and deliver "trusted pathway" blueprints that align Copilot rollout with Zero Trust, Essential Eight, and customer compliance obligations.
* Guide customers through SharePoint Advanced Management, restricted SharePoint search, and site-level access reviews to prepare tenants for Copilot.
* Develop adoption roadmaps that pair technical controls with change management, persona-based pilots, and measurable success criteria.
* Establish responsible AI guardrails covering acceptable use, prompt governance, and auditing of Copilot interactions.
Data Security & Microsoft Purview
* Design and implement Microsoft Purview Information Protection, including sensitivity label taxonomies, auto-labelling, and encryption policies.
* Deliver Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, endpoints, and Copilot interactions.
* Implement Insider Risk Management, Communication Compliance, and Adaptive Protection to manage data risk end-to-end.
* Configure Purview Data Lifecycle Management, Records Management, and eDiscovery to meet regulatory and legal hold requirements.
* Lead Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) for AI engagements, including DSPM for Copilot, to give customers continuous visibility of sensitive data exposure.
* Conduct data classification and discovery workstreams using trainable classifiers, EDM, and exact data match where appropriate.
Delivery & Customer Engagement
* Successfully deliver cybersecurity projects that advance our customers' Copilot and data security journeys.
* Be a subject matter expert across Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and adjacent identity and security technologies.
* Solve customer pain points by applying the latest best practices and architectural approaches.
* Communicate proactively and effectively with customers, partners, and internal staff.
* Attend and present at customer kick-offs, workshops, and steering meetings.
* Peer review designs and architecture documentation.
* Help manage the customer lifecycle and assist the sales team to win further opportunities.
* Work as part of the pre-sales team in the proposal stage as required.
* Continuously develop and optimise Intellectual Property (IP) to allow job repeatability.
* Contribute to technical blogging and other marketing initiatives.
* Proactively assist and mentor other team members and jointly develop technical skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
* Proven track record as a Senior Consultant (or equivalent) across the IT industry lifecycle covering pre-sales, consulting and professional services.
* Deep, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview — Information Protection, DLP, Insider Risk Management, Data Lifecycle Management, eDiscovery, and DSPM for AI.
* Deep, hands-on expertise securing Microsoft Copilot across Microsoft 365 including identity, access, and data controls spanning Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview to ensure least-privilege access and prevent unintended data exposure through AI interactions.
* Practical experience designing and implementing Copilot-safe data foundations including tenant-wide permission hygiene, SharePoint/OneDrive ACL remediation, group lifecycle management, and discovery/remediation of overexposed content prior to Copilot enablement.
* Strong expertise in identity and access governance for Copilot — including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), access reviews, and session controls to reduce risk of AI-assisted data exfiltration and privilege misuse.
* Demonstrable experience designing and delivering Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness, pilot, and rollout engagements at enterprise scale.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 data security architecture across SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Teams.
* Solid understanding of Modern Identity, including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Identity Governance, as it relates to Copilot and data access.
* Excellent understanding of the broader Microsoft Defender stack and how it integrates with Purview signals.
* Experience aligning customer security outcomes to Essential Eight, Zero Trust, and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Microsoft Certifications (core prerequisite)
Current Microsoft certification is a core prerequisite for this role. Candidates must hold at least one of the following, with SC-401 strongly preferred:
* SC-401: Administering Information Security in Microsoft 365 (strongly preferred).
* SC-400: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator (legacy, accepted).
* SC-100: Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect.
* Additional Microsoft security certifications (SC-200, SC-300, MS-102, AZ-500) are highly regarded.
Highly Desirable:
* Experience leading "Copilot readiness" engagements for regulated industries (financial services, government, health).
* Familiarity with Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Defender XDR, and Microsoft Sentinel for unified data risk telemetry.
* Familiarity and experience with Agile delivery and project governance.
* Ability to whiteboard and present technical concepts to mixed audiences in a pre-sales capacity.
