Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver high-quality engineering services for a major industrial project in Portland, Victoria. This role involves managing mechanical engineering requirements across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, ensuring compliance with project standards, statutory regulations, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide mechanical engineering expertise and ensure deliverables meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, and maintain scope clarity and change control compliance.
* Support procurement activities, including writing requisitions, evaluating technical bids, and preparing purchase orders.
* Act as Mechanical Engineering Lead when required, supervising tasks and promoting workshare.
* Resolve technical discrepancies and maintain compliance with local and international standards.
* Mentor junior engineers and maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
* Stay updated on industry developments and technical innovations.

Requirements
* Recognized engineering degree and full work rights in Australia.
* Strong technical and practical mechanical engineering skills with proven ability to deliver accurate, timely work.
* Experience in aluminium smelting or similar heavy industry.
* Familiarity with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
* Proficient in mechanical engineering software and MS Office Suite.
* Preferred: Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), RPEV/RPEQ registration, and postgraduate qualifications in engineering or project management.
