Timber Window & Door Joiner (Installation & Repairs)
At Thermawood Yarra/Merri-bek, we specialise in retrofitting double glazing into both existing and new timber windows and doors throughout the Darebin and Merri-bek areas.
We install insulated glass units (IGUs) using the patented Thermawood retrofit system, ensuring long‑term performance of the IGUs without compromising the character of our client's homes. Our team also restores, repairs, and installs new timber joinery to support retrofitting projects.
We are looking for a skilled Timber Window & Door Joiner to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities
* Taking measurements for new timber window and door joinery, including sashes, frames, beads, and custom components.
* Install new timber windows and doors, including retrofitting IGUs and new sashes, frames, beads, and custom components.
* Repair, restore, and service existing timber joinery (sash windows, casements, french doors, sliders, etc.).
* Carry out sash replacements, spiral balance conversions, weight & cord repairs, and draught‑sealing.
* Work with leadlight windows where required.
* Install hardware, beads, architraves, trims, and seals to a high standard.
* Diagnose issues with existing and provide solutions.
* Work safely at heights and use tools and equipment correctly.
* Communicate professionally with customers and represent the company's values.
About You
* Qualified Joiner, Carpenter/Joiner, or relevant trade experience.
* Strong experience with timber window and door fabrication and installation.
* Confident with site work, measurements, and problem‑solving.
* High attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.
* Reliable, punctual, physically fit, and safety‑focused.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn new systems (including patented installation methods).
