We are seeking a motivated Waste Operations Logistics Officer to join our team and support the efficient coordination of materials, equipment and vehicle movements across 25 operational sites.
This role is perfect for someone who is organized, proactive and passionate about delivering safe and efficient logistics services.
About the Role
As the Waste Operations Logistics Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of resources across waste operations. You will manage scheduling, track logistics activities, maintain accurate records, coordinate fleet servicing, and support daily operational requirements.
You will be responsible for logistics across:
* 25 sites throughout the Shoalhaven, Illawarra and Sydney metropolitan areas
* A fleet of 20 vehicles including rear lift trucks, hook lift trucks, rigid trucks and walking floor combinations
* Up to 15 contractors working with similar fleet types
This is a hands‑on and dynamic role where no two days are the same.
What You'll Be Doing
* Coordinate daily logistics activities including vehicle movements, deliveries and equipment transfers
* Maintain accurate transport schedules, inventory levels, and delivery documentation
* Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely and compliant operations
* Coordinate mechanical maintenance and servicing for the logistics fleet
* Monitor logistics performance and identify opportunities for improvement
* Assist with procurement, stock control and operational supplies
* Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, and organisational policies
* Support emergency or unplanned logistics needs as required
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations, Logistics, or relevant experience in transport or supply chain
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with logistics systems such as GPS tracking or inventory management
* Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements
* Current Class C driver licence
* Australian citizenship, residency, or valid Australian working rights
Desirable
* Experience in local government or waste management logistics
* Knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste transport
* Ability to interpret and apply organisational policies and procedures
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills
* Understanding of the regulatory environment for the waste industry
