About the role
Label Power is seeking a Printing Machinist to join our Victoria team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced printer/machine operator who enjoys working alongside a skilled and supportive team.
This role is ideal for someone curious, reliable, and eager to develop their craft and skills using our cutting‑edge printing technology.
Key Responsibilities
Operating computer screen‑based equipment for scanning, colour separation, colour correction, masking, creative design, combining, imposing, retouching, and other processes used to transfer copy to film and produce film for plate, digital output and cylinder productions.
Monitoring and assessing press operations both manually and via computer to ensure print quality meets proofs and to identify any malfunctions.
Producing, managing, transferring and outputting digital print images.
Performing maintenance, adjustments, repairs and cleaning of machinery.
Utilising computer applications to create images, text, layouts and impositions for print and other visual media.
Monitoring machine performance and ensuring consistent print quality.
Occasional set‑up and operation of paper‑cutting and bookbinding guillotines.
Evaluating printed proofs, checking and correcting them for quality.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in manufacturing, particularly with labels.
At least 2 years of experience in the print trade or in a similar manufacturing position.
Knowledge or experience in Adobe Illustrator .
Eager to try new things and develop a wide variety of skills.
Curious and inquisitive about processes and how things work.
Ability to work with different machines and production tools.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
