About the Role
Reporting to the COO, this hybrid role combines strategic sales and project engagement with technical solutions expertise. You will drive business growth by building client and supplier relationships, pursuing strategic projects, and delivering tailored instrumentation and control solutions in a small, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and EPCs to secure strategic Control & Instrumentation projects.
* Identify, scope, and pursue high-value opportunities while preparing accurate quotes for both strategic and transactional sales (instrumentation, valves, calibration, repairs).
* Collaborate with suppliers (Honeywell, Druck, Valmet, Burkert and 60+ others) to develop solutions matching client technical needs.
* Provide applications engineering support across the full control loop: pressure, temperature, flow (incl. custody transfer), level, gas detection/analysis, valves (ESD/control), and more.
* Support larger projects with documentation (ITP, MDR, Quality Plans, SDRL/VDRL) and coordinate with calibration lab and service teams.
* Respond to RFQs and tenders; attend industry events and contribute to business development.
* Identify opportunities to improve client workflows through our products, services, and rental fleet.
About You
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce or related field (Master’s advantageous).
* Minimum 8–10 years experience in technical sales, project engagement or applications engineering, ideally in oil & gas, mining or other industrial
* Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and prepare proposals/quotes.
* Technical knowledge of process instrumentation, valves, and control systems.
* Excellent MS Excel skills (essential); CRM or basic programming experience desirable.
* Team player with strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to zero harm, quality (ISO standards), and sustainability.
* Willingness to travel interstate and be based in Darwin (preferred) with national responsibilities.
