A rare opportunity exists to join a highly regarded Canberra firm as it continues its evolution into a broader commercial practice.
This is not a traditional legal role. It has been designed for a commercially minded lawyer who is looking to step beyond pure fee-earning and play a key role in building and shaping a growing practice — with a clear pathway to leadership.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with the senior partners with an established client base, supporting and gradually taking ownership of a developing commercial practice.
Your role will span:
* Commercial property transactions (acquisitions, disposals and leasing)
* Business sales and purchases
* Shareholder and broader commercial agreements
* Advisory matters within commercial contexts
* You will also play a key role in building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and leveraging an existing client base to expand the firm’s commercial offering.
About You
You are a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with clients and is motivated by growth and long-term progression.
Typically, you will have:
* Minimum 2 years PQE (though more senior candidates are encouraged to apply)
* Experience across commercial, property and/or business law
* Strong communication skills and confidence in client-facing environments
* A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
* An interest in developing your own practice and contributing to firm growth
