Position Information
Fairfield West Public School is opening a brand new public preschool as part of the NSW Government's commitment to deliver 100 new public preschools by 2027. The programme will be play‐based and intentional, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, to give all children a strong start and a successful transition to school.
The school community includes 534 students, 92% with EALD, and 27% refugees, and fosters a culture of high expectations and professional learning. A nine‐class support unit accompanies the preschool, creating a collaborative and collegial environment. A Community Hub prioritises students' wellbeing and open communication with families and support services.
Specific Selection Criteria
* Approval to teach preschool holding an ACECQA approved qualification and working knowledge of the National Quality Framework.
* Capacity to plan and implement a culturally responsive preschool program based on the Early Years Learning Framework, including play‐based learning and intentional teaching.
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and families from diverse backgrounds through excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
* Co‐working collaboratively with the whole‐school team, specialist staff and external agencies to design, implement and evaluate effective transition programmes into primary school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is required. If you do not hold a full approval, you must commence the application process with the NSW Department of Education.

Anticipated entry on duty date: Term 2, April 2026.
