We're partnering with a digitally mature organisation in the higher education sector that takes user-centred design seriously. This UI/UX Designer role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep discovery work and wants to see research and insight genuinely shape product decisions.
You'll work across complex digital environments, partnering with project managers, business analysts, delivery teams, and fellow designers to understand real user needs and translate them into clear, usable digital experiences. This is not surface-level UI work. User research, testing, and evidence-led design sit at the heart of this role.
You'll lead and conduct user research, usability testing, and stakeholder engagement with students, academics, and professional staff. Insights gathered will be turned into well-defined workflows, journeys, and requirements that guide design and delivery from discovery through to implementation.
From there, you'll create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance usability, accessibility, and business outcomes. You'll contribute to and work within an established design system, helping ensure consistency while evolving patterns based on real-world use.
We're looking for a UI/UX Designer who is confident operating autonomously, comfortable navigating complexity, and skilled at communicating design rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences. You'll bring strong experience in user research, workflow and service design, and modern design tools such as Figma, along with a genuine commitment to inclusive, user-centred design.
If you're looking for a role where research informs decisions, UX is embedded in delivery, and your work has meaningful impact across a large and diverse user base, we'd love to talk.
