As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic management of all aspects of McMahon Services' projects, from pre-contract to execution and close-out. About the Role
Reporting to Senior Management, you will oversee the full lifecycle management of assigned projects. This role requires a hands-on approach to leading project teams and a strategic mindset to drive business process improvements. You will work across both Adelaide metro and regional SA project areas, tackling complex challenges in a dynamic environment.
What You Will Do
- Strategic & Operational Leadership : Monitor project progress and make high-level adjustments to staffing, resources, and finances to align with broader business goals.
- Commercial, Procurement, and Contract Management : Take a leadership role in contracts management, overseeing all aspects from RFI and variation approvals to negotiations and subcontractor performance reviews.
- Team & Staff Management : Provide visible, hands-on leadership, mentoring and motivating the project team to ensure adherence to project objectives and company values.
- Financial Management : Apply analytic ability to control costs, monitor productivity, and reliably forecast costs to completion, ensuring the project maintains a positive cash flow.
- Risk & Quality Management : Design and implement risk mitigation plans and perform overall quality control, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legislative requirements.
- Stakeholder Relations : Manage and maintain solid relationships with key senior external clients and all stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed effectively.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum 7-10 years of proven experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery, preferably in the Civil Engineering space.
- A recognised degree in an engineering discipline or other relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience in major projects contract administration and management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Health and Safety legislation.
- Proficiency in project management software, ERP systems and project management platforms.
- A strong safety focus and a "big-picture" thinking approach.

- A strong safety and security focus with in-depth knowledge of health, safety, and defence compliance legislation.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance.
- Experience in regional South Australia or working with defence agencies is a distinct advantage.
