* Ongoing Full Time Position
* Location: Eveleigh with flexible work arrangements across NSW Department of Education Offices
* A talent pool may be created through this recruitment process to fill anticipated vacancies over the next 18 months
* Competitive remuneration ranging from $113,574 to $125,720 plus super & annual leave loading.

The Department is seeking two experienced System Administrators to join the Edge Server Infrastructure team and the End User Desktop team. Both teams are responsible for delivering modern, scalable technology solutions across a highly complex and geographically distributed environment.

These roles are fundamental to the successful day-to-day operational delivery and ongoing health of several critical services. They are responsible for providing Level 2 operational support, resolving BAU incidents in line with defined SLA timeframes, and working closely with schools and cross-functional technical teams to maintain high levels of service availability, resilience, and performance.

Success in these roles requires technically capable and forward-thinking professionals with strong experience in edge infrastructure or desktop environments, a commitment to continuous service improvement, and the ability to apply analytical thinking to complex technical challenges.

Equally important is the ability to foster a positive and collaborative team culture, communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders, and maintain a strong focus on delivering reliable technology services that directly support teaching and learning outcomes in every NSW public school classroom.

About you

* Strong customer service focus, with a proven commitment to maintaining service health, availability, and performance.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build, manage, and sustain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Demonstrated experience delivering and supporting operational solutions across diverse and complex working environments.
* High technical proficiency in issue identification, troubleshooting, workflow prioritisation, and problem resolution.
* Skilled in documenting processes clearly and maintaining accurate, up-to-date technical documentation.
* Experience supporting End User computing devices and 2nd-level management systems, including Microsoft Intune, across large and complex environments.
* Technical expertise in edge servers, UPS infrastructure, and associated monitoring platforms such as SCOME.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* Idustry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

Outline your troubleshooting steps, how you would collaborate with relevant teams and maintain progress visibility while managing the incident. Include you approach for process improvements aimed at preventing a similar issue from occurring in the future. (500 words)
* You have been asked to deploy a new technical edge solution across 500 remote schools that could impact up to 10,000 students. Describe your approach to planning and delivering this deployment. In your response, outline the processes, controls, and rationale you would apply to ensure the rollout is secure, compliant, maintains operational service availability, and results in no disruption to school operations. (500 words)

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
