**About the role**
We are currently seeking an experienced Scheduler to join the team in a full-time capacity. This position can be based at any of our branch network from Caloundra, Hervey Bay, Capalaba, Currumbin or Thornton in Northern NSW.
This role is responsible for the translation of client engineering drawings and plans into reinforcing bar schedules for the production and dispatch of reinforcement to client sites. You will also be responsible for providing front-line customer service to ensure that customer expectations are met or appropriately passed to the correct service point.
**Key responsibilities**
- Preparation of estimates and bar schedules for reinforcing across several projects concurrently, detailing grade, diameter, number, and shape of bars for production.
- Production of detailed and accurate marking plans showing the placement of reinforcing in projects.
- Production of CAD drawings as required for scheduling purposes.
- Entering scheduling information into scheduling software with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
- Meet set tonnage targets per month.
- Liaising with production, transport staff and contractors to meet lead times and deadlines.
- Maintaining good client relationships for projects under their control, including prompt problem solving.
- Proactively identify and escalate any risks or threats to scheduling lead times and deadlines to the Scheduling Manager.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of and ability to interpret and develop CAD drawings with accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and create efficiencies
- Previous experience working for an Australian Reinforcing Steel company
- Experience in Steel Fixing
- Strong mathematical skills especially trigonometry and analytical geometry
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and competent with Autocad
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Strong technical aptitude and analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Good communication and teamwork skills
