**About the role**:
Based at our Castlemaine site, the Payroll Manager is responsible for ensuring their team enters all payroll information into the system in a timely manner to ensure all weekly employees are paid on time and accurately in accordance with the EBA and relevant award.
This role will also be required to seek out opportunities to improve efficiency in payroll workflow, quality of reporting to leaders to control leave balances and minimising payroll costs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensuring the Payroll team stays up to date with payroll tax laws and other relevant legislation
- Ensuring weekly staff are paid accurately in accordance with EBAs and relevant award
- Ensuring superannuation, payroll tax, national award changes are all properly reflected in pay rates
- Improve automation/efficiency of payroll process
- Maintain salary deductions from Government bodies and credit agencies when required
- Address employee inquiries and concerns regarding their pay, deductions and taxes
- Trouble shoot issues related to the payroll systems
- Project Manage system & process changes
- Generate regular payroll reports for management, finance and other relevant departments
- Leadership of payroll team

**About you**:
- Minimum 5 years payroll experience (in a large organisation)
- Previous leadership experience with demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement and cultural change
- Proven experience identifying and deploying process improvements
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide insight and quickly identify a way forward when presented with issues
