Two-way Science is an educational approach that integrates Western Australian Science Curriculum with Aboriginal knowledges. This initiative supports schools in developing partnerships with local Aboriginal communities to create culturally responsive learning programs.
The Role
This position requires strong cultural and organisational knowledge to plan and coordinate activities with community groups, school curriculum teams and Ranger Groups in developing school-based Two-way Science programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying challenges in the program's delivery, providing expert advice and guidance, and overseeing risk management to ensure safe and effective implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Building positive relationships between schools, parents/carers and local Aboriginal communities to develop place-based teaching and learning programs for primary and secondary students.
2. Collaborating with curriculum team members to deliver professional learning and support schools in embedding culturally responsive practices.
