Job Summary
37.5 hours per week (rota basis 5 × 7.5 hour shifts including weekends and bank holidays). This exciting opportunity is for a Housekeeping and Domestic Services Supervisor in the Facilities Department at Cheswold Park Hospital, Doncaster.
In this busy role you will exercise effective leadership skills, manage performance, direct the team, communicate with ward and departmental managers, monitor quality standards, compliance and take or facilitate appropriate action. The ability to lead, motivate and mentor staff is essential.
Ideal candidate will have previous experience, be able to plan in advance, organised, flexible, reliable, hardworking and have enhanced communication skills at all levels.
A full clean driving licence is essential; the post may require cover at other areas within the Trust portfolio.

Key Result Areas
* Organise own workload and that of housekeeping and domestic staff to ensure comprehensive service provision.
* Participate in recruitment and selection of staff in adherence to Trust policy.
* Undertake staff development reviews in line with Trust and Departmental procedures.
* Ensure all staff are fully trained in Standard Operating Procedures and local work instructions.
* Provide input to housekeeping and domestic supervisors meetings for practical induction of policies and procedures.
* Organise regular team meetings to keep staff aware of policy changes.
* Ensure staff understand Trusts Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including COSHH legislation.
* Monitor performance to meet required standards.
* Investigate and resolve hygiene and health and safety issues, completing IR1 forms.
* Prepare duty rotas, authorise annual leave and adjust to maintain staffing levels.
* Monitor and record sickness, conduct return‐to‐work and informal sickness interviews.
* Organise emergency cleans (e.g., floods, vandalism).
* Report maintenance issues in accordance with Property Services procedures; report to line manager.
* Act on quality monitoring audit failures within specified timescales.
* Organise decontamination of areas using specialised equipment.
* Manage the distribution of keys.
* Identify, recommend, develop and implement ways to increase organisational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost savings.
* Participate in any required meetings.
* Any other duties commensurate with the post.
Qualifications
* Award in Leadership and Management or equivalent (Level 3) or commitment to work toward it (Essential).
* Certificate in Leadership & Management (Level 3) or equivalent (Desirable).
* Level 2 Certificate in Control of Infection and Contamination or equivalent (Desirable).

Experience
* Demonstrable supervisory experience.
* Working knowledge of Health & Safety and Risk Assessments.
* Basic understanding of Microsoft Word & Excel.
