ICU Clinical Nurse Consultant A – ICU Liaison Permanent Part Time 24 hours per fortnight 8 hour shifts 0700-2230, 1400-2230 About the role Grampians Heath – Ballarat has a 13 bed Critical Care unit which supports 1250 admissions annually.
The ICU Liaison Service works alongside the Critical Care Unit and plays a critical role in connecting Critical Care with the in-patient wards of Grampians Health – Ballarat.
We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse to join the ICU Liaison team.
Key responsibilities Need to demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and practice Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team Provide leadership and professional expertise to Ballarat staff Support and works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Consultant C Review and assess referred patients with identified complex needs Member of the Medical Emergency / Respond Blue team Promotes and coordinates effective and safe teamwork of the members of the response team Supports patients and or family in clinical escalation processes, including the REACH reviews.
Provide education Support patients with a tracheostomy in the community, including short term use of equipment Promote clinical escalation in all levels of health care disciplines Promote cross campus collaboration Act as a clinical role model Skills and Experience Be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and hold a current practicing certificate Post graduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing Extensive clinical experience in the critical care setting, preferably a minimum of 5 years Annual ALS and BLS competency maintained Computer skills for data entry and monitoring Promotes a psychologically safe and just culture environment Ability to assist the implementation of new models of care Ability to practice independently and interdependently High level of communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills To see a full copy of the Position Description please click here Interested?
