The Role:
1. Act as a positive role model for clients by using personal experience of recovery to share information, skills and strategies that support and promote overall wellbeing, knowledge and resilience.
2. Support clinicians in brief interventions and ensuring all clients, family members and friends feel safe throughout their engagement with the Detox@Home Program.
3. Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and participate in discussions with a focus on quality improvement initiatives, planning and problem-solving in line with a recovery-focused, person-centred and strengths-based approach.
4. Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and relevant Lived Experience networks.
5. Develop the role of Peer Worker across the Alcohol and Drug Service.
Please note, this role is most suitable for individuals who:
6. have experienced a minimum of 2 years (24 months) in recovery following their relevant lived experience (related to alcohol or other drug use)*
7. have completed related training including but not limited to a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, the Drug Education Network Peer Workforce Training or another evidenced/benchmarked AOD peer training program.
8. have previous experience working/volunteering in a peer worker role.
9. are committed to continuous learning for the sake of growing within the peer worker role.

The Team:
This is a new position for the Alcohol and Drug Service and is an exciting opportunity to develop the role of the Peer Worker across the whole service, with a focus on the Detox@Home Program.
Details of Appointment:
Fixed Term part time, day worker position, working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2024.

Salary:
$63,336 - $66,917 per annum + 10.5% superannuation
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
