We are looking for an experienced WHS & RTW Coordinator to oversee and efficiently manage the WHS division in Queensland, ensuring adherence to legislation and proving guidance and training to staff. Reporting into the National WHS Manager, you will have support from the wider safety team around Australia as well as liaising with State Managers, Branch Managers and other Labourpower representatives on safety issues and incidents. The successful applicant will offer assistance and guidance to staff in order to prevent incidents as well as to be undertaking safety audits on site. The WHS Coordinator will also have proven experience in driving a safe-work culture and managing a remote multi-site, multi-state workforce.
This role is available for an immediate start. We are located in Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane.
**The role**:
- Manage return to work and injury management processes and activities for QLD
- Work directly with 3rd party workers compensation providers, communicating with case managers, claims managers, approved rehabilitation providers and key stakeholders.
- Conduct claim review with managers and relevant parties to obtain best outcomes for claims
- Undertake investigations on significant incidents
- Liaise with investigators and Workcover authority representatives
- Oversee the fitness for work process with a view of continual improvement processes
- Implement processes and practices relating to WHS
- Conduct regular audits on WHS and deliver findings to management
- Liaise with injured workers and all parties relating to claims management
- Liaise with clients on WHS matters
- Train internal staff on WHS practices
**The successful applicant will demonstrate**:
- Qualification in WHS or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' recent injury management experience with either an employer or insurer
- Previous workers compensation insurance experience desirable
- A proactive and energetic approach to work
- Comprehensive knowledge in all aspects of safety and WHS within a blue collar workforce
- Able to effectively communicate to all parties including senior management
- Strong administration experience
- Promoting a helpful and enriching culture
- Exceptional time management
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- The ability to multi-task with conflicting priorities
- Intermediate to advanced computer and MS office skills
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality
- High attention to detail
- Professional presentation standards
- Own transport
