Role Overview
- Position: AI Task Designer – Contractor, Remote
- Up to 40 hours per week, minimum 6 weeks duration
- Enhance large-language-model performance by creating and evaluating challenging tasks for AI models
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Mercor coordinators and client research leads to develop innovative AI tasks
- Design creative and realistic tasks for AI models, ensuring they are challenging and comprehensive
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and comprehensiveness across various domains
- Write gold-standard solutions to tasks, providing clear and concise feedback to improve AI model outputs
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines and contribute to the continuous improvement of AI model performance
Requirements / Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience in roles such as technical writers, editors, research analysts, or similar
- Demonstrable experience creating Q&A;, summaries, or problem-solving tasks for long-form content
- Robust fact-checking and editing skills to validate and polish AI-generated answers
- Ability to apply analytical judgment to spot inconsistencies in draft outputs
- Excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in reading-comprehension or curriculum design
- Background in assessment authorship or instructional design
Engagement Details
- Hourly contractor for Mercor
- Paid weekly via Stripe Connect
- Remote work with flexible, asynchronous schedule
- Start dates are rolling, with work trials sent out within days of application
- Applicants must be from the U.S., UK, Canada, or Australia
