About the Business
We partner with a national franchise network delivering bookkeeping, BAS, payroll and tax services under a trusted, fixed-price model. Certified in MYOB, Xero, and QuickBooks (QBO), Shoebox is built on simplicity, transparency and long-term client relationships.
As part of this network, you will work from the head office in Nerang supporting franchisees across Australia — whether they're aspiring BAS Agents or existing franchise owners — through technical guidance, training, and hands-on support.
Role Summary
As Senior Bookkeeper & Franchise Support Lead, you will be central to ensuring our franchisees deliver best-practice bookkeeping services. This means training, mentoring, helping them with technical queries, and holding quality oversight on their work. You'll help embed standards and ensure consistency across the network, while tending to franchise owner needs and helping them grow their businesses.
Key Responsibilities
* Train and supervise bookkeepers and franchisees in:
* BAS preparation & reconciliation
* Payroll, including Single Touch Payroll
* TPAR (Taxable Payments Annual Report)
* Preparation of income statements & year-end procedures
* Software usage, configuration and support (especially MYOB; also Xero / QBO)
* Respond to technical queries from franchise owners; act as a point of escalation
* Ensure quality control across bookkeeping outputs within the franchise network
* Contribute to development of training materials, systems, templates, and process improvements
* Collaborate with head office to maintain consistency, compliance, and continual improvement
What We're Looking For
Non-Negotiables
* Minimum 3 years' bookkeeping experience (5+ years preferred)
* Strong experience with MYOB
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Clear, concise written communication ability
Desirables
* Experience working in a training, mentoring or leadership capacity
* Ability to support, encourage, and build confidence in franchise owners
* Patience, empathy, strong interpersonal skills
* Experience with or knowledge of Xero, Dext, KeyPay, Deputy (beneficial but not essential)
