About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on Accounts & Finance Manager to own the day‑to‑day finance function at Bright Access, an NDIS‑registered provider. You will manage accounting, payroll, NDIS billing and compliance, and provide the Director with clear, timely financial information to support decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and monitor budgets across all facilities, participants and departments.
* Monitor participant funding balances and notify relevant teams of low or exhausted funding.
* Review service delivery data to ensure billing accuracy against participant plans, service agreements and schedules.
* Manage general accounting (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journals, month‑end).
* Oversee and complete weekly NDIS invoicing, billing and claims, including follow‑up on rejections and management of aged debtors.
* Manage payroll, employee entitlements and related on‑costs.
* Prepare and/or coordinate BAS, PAYG, super and other statutory obligations.
* Produce monthly management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
* Identify and implement improvements to finance processes and systems.
* Work with an Accounts Assistant for payroll and invoicing support, and collaborate effectively with a remote team member.
Skills & experience
* CPA qualified (or working towards) – CA also welcome.
* Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience in Australia.
* NDIS or disability/community services experience (essential).
* Strong understanding of Australian payroll, entitlements and basic tax.
* Experience with cloud accounting and payroll software (e.g. Xero/Employment Hero or similar).
* High attention to detail, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills including verbal and written.
