Join the People & Culture team as a P&C Assistant and play a hands-on role in recruiting the workforce behind the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) 2026.
This is an exciting entry-level opportunity where you'll be at the centre of high-volume, fast-paced recruitment. Helping bring together the teams that make the Ekka come to life. From chefs and food & beverage staff to event operations roles, you'll directly contribute to building a workforce of hundreds.
This fixed-term contract runs from early May through to August.
This role will require you to be in office, 5 days a week.
What you'll be doing
You'll play a key role in delivering end-to-end recruitment for Ekka 2026, including a key focus on:
* Supporting high-volume recruitment across a wide range of Ekka roles (Guest and Gates Services, Chefs, Food & Beverage, and event staff)
* Partnering with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and identify suitable candidates
* Coordinating large-scale hiring days, interviews, and candidate communications
* Screening applications and assisting with shortlisting in a fast-paced environment
You'll also assist with ad hoc administrative tasks where required, including:
* Managing onboarding documentation to ensure all staff are ready for day one
* Maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring data integrity
* Assisting with uniform distribution and ID coordination for Ekka staff
* Supporting the delivery of the Ekka Incentives Program
* Providing general administrative support to the People & Culture team

About us
The RNA runs the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), Queensland's largest event, on behalf of the community for 9 days each year in August. Staged at its original birthplace, the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Ekka showcases its unique tradition and heritage by bringing the city and country together for a once-a-year get-together. On average 400,000 people gather to see thousands of exhibits, 10,000 animals, world-class entertainment and taste award-winning food and wine.
