Job Title:
Urban Forestry Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Forestry Specialist to enhance the urban and environmental amenity of the Blue Mountains region. The successful candidate will provide expertise on the management of amenity trees and bushland vegetation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct preliminary tree assessments to inform infrastructure proposal impacts on urban forest canopy cover and biodiversity.
* Develop strategies to mitigate construction impacts by utilizing tree sensitive design and tree protection under AS4390.
* Minimize tree removal and damage to green assets through best practice design and calculate offset requirements where tree removal is unavoidable.
* Provide specialist horticultural/arboricultural advice and assistance and training to assist project delivery.
* Audit compliance with conditions of part 5 consent and provide project arborist supervision at critical stages of project delivery.
* Review external arboricultural consultant's reports.
* Provide feedback on tree species selection and quality of stock for replanting.
* Offer environmental and landscape restoration advice and information in accordance with related environmental planning instruments, legislation and policy and codes.
