Expression of Interest – Shift Supervisor (Crushing & Haulage)
Norton Gold Fields is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated internal candidates for the position of Shift Supervisor – Crushing and Haulage with an anticipated start date in late April to early May.
This role is responsible for leading a crew of operators, coordinating daily haulage activities, and ensuring safe and efficient operations in line with site production targets. This is a key leadership position within the Haulage team, with a strong focus on safety, performance, and crew development.
About the role:
Reporting to the Crushing and Haulage Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the haulage crew. The role involves coordinating personnel and equipment, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements, and supporting the team to achieve production and safety targets. This position also carries statutory supervisor responsibilities.
Roster: 2:1 - 12 hrs (Dayshift/Nightshift) (Residential or FIFO ex.Perth)
What you will be doing:
Lead and supervise haulage operators to achieve daily production targets
Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times
Allocate equipment and personnel to meet operational requirements
Monitor haulage performance and minimise downtime
Provide coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to crew members
Conduct pre-starts, toolbox meetings and shift handovers
Ensure training requirements are completed and maintained
Follow up on maintenance requests and monitor equipment availability
Manage shift manning, leave, and additional shift coverage
Complete performance reviews for direct reports
Carry out duties as a statutory supervisor
Maintain strong working relationships with maintenance, processing and mining teams
What we are looking for:
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership skills and previous experience in a haulage or mining supervisory position. You will also have:
Previous experience in a haulage or mining supervisory role
Sound knowledge of haulage equipment and safe operating practices
Understanding of Mines Safety & Inspection Act and Regulations
Current MC Licence (or higher)
Current Senior First Aid certificate
Cert IV Training & Assessing (desirable)
Basic computer skills (email, reporting, systems)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work shift roster and meet physical requirements of the role
