Your new role
An APS6 Insider Threat Analyst is being sought to join a Security Operations team at this Central Australian Government Agency. This role contributes to the identification, assessment and management of insider‑related risks, supporting the protection of sensitive information and organisational integrity.
Working under limited direction, your responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring, analysing and responding to insider‑related risk indicators
* Supporting behavioural and insider risk assessment activities
* Assisting with investigations through intelligence gathering and investigation support functions
* Contributing to data protection, information assurance and compliance monitoring activities
* Preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports and briefing materials
* Escalating matters of concern in line with established policies and procedures
* Supporting incident response and risk mitigation activities as required
* Contributing to the ongoing development and maturity of insider risk and integrity capabilities
* Liaising with internal stakeholders in a professional, confidential and trusted manner
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience in operational monitoring, assurance, investigations, compliance or risk environments
* Strong analytical capability, with the ability to assess patterns, behaviours and risk indicators
* Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately
* Well‑developed written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work independently, prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines
* High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion
* Knowledge of insider threat, integrity or behavioural risk frameworks
* Experience contributing to monitoring, detection or assurance processes
* Familiarity with information protection or compliance systems
* You must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain government Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) Clearance.
