One Hour.
One Walk.
One Friendship.
New Town - Brighten a Day - Volunteer for a Chat & Stroll
Provide social support and companionship to a female in her 80s, who lives in a residential aged care facility in New Town.
You will help to ease feelings of social isolation and brighten her day
The Role: Join the Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, and help reduce loneliness among older Australians.
As a volunteer, you'll be paired with a senior who would love regular social visits.
Activities can include chatting over coffee, sharing stories, playing games, listening to music, or enjoying a short walk whatever suits both of you
It's a simple way to make a big difference in your community.
Our Client: A lovely woman in her late 80s lives in a residential aged care home in New Town.
She enjoys colouring, arts and crafts, watching TV, and loves animals especially cats and dogs.
