Public Health Nursing Specialist

About the Role
The Communicable Disease Prevention Unit plays a vital role in preventing and controlling communicable diseases within Tasmania. The unit consists of three divisions: Immunisation, Health Intelligence, and Response including Infection Prevention and Control.
We engage closely with the public and collaborate with stakeholders to effectively prevent and respond to notifiable diseases. Our goal is to minimize the spread of communicable diseases and ensure the health and well-being of the community.
Main Responsibilities
1. Providing specialist clinical guidance to the Department of Health and other healthcare providers on the delivery of public health nursing services.
2. Assessing, advising, and managing all aspects of notifiable diseases across the state.
3. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies for disease prevention and control.
4. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, community groups, and government agencies.
