Job Opportunity: Freight Train Driver
About the Role:
As a key member of our rail operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient train movements. Your primary responsibility will be to drive freight trains across various routes, adhering to strict safety protocols and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
* Assist with freight haulage tasks, following established policies and guidelines.
* Prepare and provision locomotives and wagons for train operations, adhering to standard operating procedures.
* Perform minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
* Undertake maintenance tasks and collaborate with rolling-stock maintainers to ensure the integrity of rolling stock and operational systems.
* Conduct yourself in a professional manner, demonstrating a strong customer focus and commitment to safety.
* Evaluate and manage risks to achieve zero injuries.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Certificate IV Rail Operations - provide evidence of units of competence successfully attained.
* Current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications.
* Evidence of your route qualifications/experience.
* Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical or willingness to obtain one.
* Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
* A high level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills.
* A commitment to a safety culture, and a can-do customer focus.
* Professionalism, integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude.
