Volunteer Opportunity: L2P Driving Mentor
">
This role is perfect for individuals who want to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and help them achieve their goals. As an L2P Driving Mentor, you will be working with a team that aims to end homelessness in Melbourne.
">
The position is based out of our Education First Youth Foyer site, where we provide young people between 16-25 years old with access to mainstream education, training, and employment opportunities. Our goal is to empower these young individuals and provide them with the skills they need to become independent.
">
You will be providing driving guidance and mentorship to young people at the Education First Youth Foyer Broadmeadows who want to gain their probationary license by obtaining their 120 hours of driving experience through the L2P Program with the Hume Whittlesea Local Learning and Employment Network (HWLLEN).
">
To be successful in this role, you must have good communication skills and be able to use a mentoring/coaching approach rather than an instructional one. You should also be flexible and able to commit approximately 1-2 hours per week.
">
Key selection criteria include having a current full Victorian driver's license, a satisfactory driver's license history, being medically fit to drive, and undertaking an interview with Foyer staff and Hume TAC L2P Coordinator.
">
If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and have the necessary skills and qualifications, then this opportunity may be perfect for you.
