Position Title: Instructor
Reports to: National Training Manager
Status: Contractor (Casual, Sole Trader, etc)
Hours: The hours of work for casual trainers will be irregular and non-systematic and dependent on the work requirements for each engagement.
Location: Positions are available at different times in different states in Australia
Purpose:
To lead, oversee and provide the full range of Murcotts training services and associated operational functions
Responsibilities
* Provide professional services in training, facilitation and further development of Murcotts' programs in accordance with the program curriculum and Murcotts underlying road safety philosophy.
* Co-ordinate delivery of Murcotts programs and manage available resources at the venue.
* Ensure venues are set up correctly for the programs being delivered.
* Advise on purchase of equipment, teaching and learning resources
* Prepare learning materials
* Prepare assessment instruments
* Prepare teaching programs
* Deliver teaching programs
* Assess teaching programs
* Assess competencies
* Advise students
* Maintain attendance and assessment records
* Review training delivery and assessment
* Assume responsibility for the safety of participants in the group.
* In keeping with Murcotts major business objective as a sales organisation: ensure that customers/participants receive services and experiences that reflect their sales contract as an individual or corporate customer; actively promote and on-sell Murcotts' services and products to our customers; Implement a diverse range of business development and sales strategies, events and promotional materials that increase the company's training profile and strengthen the company's competitive advantage in the market place; Increase the number of repeat business opportunities for the current range of training programs and the profitability of each type.
Requirements
* The position requires the employee to drive vehicles. The vehicle is considered a workplace and the roads are part of the work environment, hence driving is subject to Health & Safety Legislation, the Road Traffic Acts and Regulations as well as the organisation's policies and procedures including the Vehicle Use Policy and Fleet Safety Policy.
* The employee is responsible for his/ her driving behaviour in terms of strict liability as required under the relevant Road Traffic Act and Regulations.
* Provide high quality customer service at all times
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate IV Transport & Logistics (Car Driving Instruction) or equivalent (or qualify)
* Certificate IV TAE (Assessor and Workplace Trainer)
* Current driver's licence (required)
* Working With Children Card (required to have or obtain upon hire)
* Current First Aid Certificate (incl CPR)
* High level Facilitation Skills
* Ability to work with others collaboratively
* Ability to work as a member of a team
* Communication skills appropriate for maintaining effective working relationships including assertiveness and conflict resolution
* Ability to receive feedback about performance
* Demonstrated vocational competence to at least the level of the qualification that they are
* Where formal vocational or training and assessment competencies are not held by a trainer then the provider has to map their competencies against the relevant competency standards and sign off the mapping
* In the event that a trainer does not possess the required training competencies their work will be subject to weekly review by a qualified trainer
* Practical application of computer programs such as Word and Power point and presentation skills using same
* Professional development will be available to enable trainers to maintain the currency of their training, assessing and subject matter qualifications and experience
* Evidence of practical experience in driver training
* Knowledge of learning theory
* Knowledge of behaviour based learning and safety concepts
Compensation
* Instructors are compensated on a per program taught basis.
* Business Travel to other states paid for by Company as necessary
