Aboriginal Project Support Partner

Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Directorate

About The Role

The Aboriginal Project Support Partner will work in partnership with project teams, Aboriginal communities and key stakeholders to support culturally safe, community-informed project delivery across the District. This role provides practical guidance and cultural expertise throughout the project lifecycle, strengthening relationships, supporting meaningful engagement, and ensuring Aboriginal voices, knowledge, and priorities are embedded in planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Aboriginal Project Support Partner plays an important role in advancing Western NSW Local Health District's commitment to Closing the Gap under the Districts Strategic Plan and Aboriginal Health Strategy initiatives to improve health outcomes, and supporting strong, respectful partnerships with Aboriginal people, families, and communities.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong cultural capability and experience working in partnership with Aboriginal communities, organisations, and stakeholders. They will have well-developed communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to provide practical project support and advice, and a sound understanding of culturally safe engagement principles. Experience supporting projects within health, community, or government settings, along with the ability to navigate systems, influence respectfully, and work collaboratively across teams, is essential. Strong project management and organisational skills, adaptability, and a commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal people, families, and communities are key to success in this role.

You will work closely with the Executive Director Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing and with an all Aboriginal dynamic high performing District wide leadership team that supports a working environment culture to learn new skills and experience and to grow and develop.

This position is Monday to Friday during business hours with flexible culturally safe working arrangements available.
