Description
We are seeking experienced Arborists to join our Recreation Works team, to help protect, maintain and enhance our city's trees.
The Opportunity
* Assist with tree pruning, removal, root barrier installation and tree planting.
* Work collaboratively with teammates to identify hazards and risks, and be responsible for reporting and documenting visual tree assessments.
About You
* Certificate III in Arboriculture and contemporary industry experience in tree removal / pruning, rigging, tree identification and tree health.
* Demonstrated experience in correct pruning techniques, able to fell and remove trees according to Australian safety standards and environmental protection practices.
* Motivated with strong problem‐solving skills and able to work productively as a team member.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Optional: Traffic Control, Safe Work Near Overhead Power Lines, EWP Ticket, MR truck licence, Dogman Ticket.
Benefits
This is a permanent full‐time role, working a 38‐hour week, salary range of $70,273 – $78,003 inclusive of a 5% market force + allowances + 12% p.a. superannuation.
Maitland City Council offers flexible working arrangements within our Recreation Team, which may include:
