Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. At Nepean Hospital, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive and dynamic environment. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Acute General Surgery team.
This role will see you provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing acute general surgery procedures. You will monitor patient condition including vital signs, pain management, wound care and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the surgical team. You will communicate and collaborate closely with Surgeons, Anesthetists and Multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

What You Will Bring To The Role
* Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA)
* Demonstrated experience and clinical skill as a Registered Nurse (including completion of a new graduate year or equivalent experience working as a registered Nurse).
* Demonstrated capacity to provide effective nursing care that is person centred, family inclusive and culturally sensitive to people accessing health services.
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
* Demonstrated effective communications written and verbal skills
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development
* Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to work a flexible roster, day evening or night shift across all days of the week.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
