Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Program Architect (EL2 equivalent) to join a large and complex Federal Government agency delivering mission-critical capabilities that support national operations.This is a long-term contract opportunity (initial 36 months) based in the ACT, supporting enterprise-wide transformation across business and technology domains.
You will lead and evolve enterprise and business architecture across major programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, ICT infrastructure, and long-term capability roadmaps.Working within a sophisticated and security-sensitive environment, you will shape enterprise architecture direction, guide infrastructure and cloud strategy, and contribute to governance, risk management, and technology innovation.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead enterprise and business architecture across assigned programsDevelop and maintain ICT enterprise infrastructure architecture and patternsDesign and maintain architecture models, blueprints, and roadmapsAlign business strategy with technology capability and transformation initiativesEstablish and maintain architecture governance frameworksContribute to infrastructure, cloud and hybrid environment strategyProvide strategic advice across architecture domainsIdentify emerging technology opportunities and implementation pathwaysMentor and uplift capability within the broader architecture teamEssential Experience & CapabilitiesProven experience operating at Lead Program Architect levelDeep expertise in Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture frameworksStrong background in corporate infrastructure and cloud strategyExperience defining long-term IT infrastructure vision across data centres, cloud and hybrid environmentsHigh-level stakeholder engagement and executive advisory capabilityStrong documentation, modelling and architectural governance experienceAbility to operate independently in complex, fast-paced environmentsDemonstrated experience delivering within large Federal Government environments (highly regarded)Essential Skills for role level per APS JFFEnterprise & Business Architecture (Level 6)Business Process Improvement (Level 7)Strategic Planning (Level 5+)Information Systems CoordinationRequirements Definition & ManagementInformation Security awarenessInfrastructure solution design and roadmap developmentSkills & Experience RequiredIn-depth understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks.Ability to understand business processes and goals and translate them into effective technology solutions.Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills for architecture.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.define and drive the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the organization's IT infrastructure across data canters, cloud platforms, and hybrid environments.Define and lead technical infrastructure solution design, including the development of new technical solutions.Support and roadmap established and proposed enterprise capabilities and patterns within the organization, through consideration of key stakeholder requirements, IT Architecture policies, standards and guidelines and Enterprise Architecture strategy and roadmaps to ensure that solutions are fit-for-purpose.Identify any potential technology innovations and engage with stakeholder partners to develop implementation all work using any required standards, methods, and tools including internally developed toolsets.Cultivate technical excellence across the Chief Technology Officer branch Offer guidance and support to foster skills enhancement and professional growth for staff membersAbout the EnvironmentTechnology is a critical enabler of operational and corporate services within this national law enforcement environment.
