About the role
Mentone Girls' Grammar is seeking an inspiring Low Brass specialist and Ensemble Director to join our outstanding Music Program. This is a brilliant opportunity to work with highly engaged students in a school celebrated for musical excellence, performance and opportunity.
Reporting to the Head of Music Programs, you will nurture a love of music while contributing to a dynamic, inclusive and performance-driven culture, with a strong understanding of the learning and wellbeing needs of girls.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach Low Brass (Trombone, Euphonium & Tuba) from Beginner to VCE
* Deliver individual and small-group instrumental lessons
* Direct and develop ensembles, including Wind Symphony and Brass Ensembles
* Prepare students for concerts, festivals, competitions, VCE performances and AMEB exams
* Support a vibrant co-curricular music program
This casual role suits an enthusiastic, experienced music educator who thrives in a collaborative environment and loves seeing students shine on stage.
Availability
* 1–2 days per week
* Must be available Thursday and/or Friday
About You
* Current VIT Registration or WWCC
* High-level musicianship with Low Brass expertise
* Experience across Classical and Contemporary styles
* Strong ensemble leadership and teamwork skills
* Passion for student wellbeing, child safety and girls' education
* Music technology skills and experience with diverse learners (advantage)
