Position Title: Digital Project Manager (12-month Contract)
Location: Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
Engagement: 12 months, Daily Rate Contract
Security Clearance: Australian Citizenship required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance
About the Role
We’re looking for a results-driven Digital Project Manager to lead the delivery of a medium-to-large scale digital transformation project based in the ACT. This role requires someone who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and can drive agile practices while managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement. You will play a pivotal role in shaping digital service delivery that aligns with strategic goals and delivers measurable benefits.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex digital transformation project impacting multiple business units and external users.
* Coordinate and manage cross-functional teams, balancing priorities and dependencies.
* Drive agile project management practices, promoting continuous improvement and iterative delivery.
* Engage and influence stakeholders across all levels—internal teams, executives, and external partners—to build consensus and maintain alignment.
* Manage project scope, risks, budget, and timelines to ensure successful delivery within constraints.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven track record delivering complex Digital Experience technology projects, preferably within government or regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of digital service delivery in government contexts.
* Experience managing teams in a matrixed organisation and driving collaborative outcomes.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including reporting to senior and executive stakeholders.
* Ability to influence without authority and build consensus among diverse groups.
* Experience with vendor and contract management.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in archives or cultural sector organisations.
* Familiarity with Altus by Sensei project management software.
* Knowledge of user-centred design principles and digital accessibility standards.
* Comfortable working in hybrid project environments combining agile and waterfall methodologies.
Technical Skills
* Relevant project management qualifications and/or extensive hands-on experience.
* Strong familiarity with agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
* Experience using Azure DevOps or similar project tracking tools.
