We also offer: Competitive salary 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading, 3 weeks personal leave and more Salary packaging up to $18,550 tax free Professional development opportunities About the role Our Criminal Law Practice is fast-paced and highly rewarding, made up of solicitors working in youth, summary, indictable and appellate crime, supported by dedicated administrative and client service staff. The Client Services Officer plays a vital role in ensuring effective legal services for our clients. You’ll support clients in custody and the community, assist lawyers with client liaison, and contribute to culturally responsive services across Darwin and on circuit to remote communities. Key aspects of the role include: Supporting clients in prison, detention and the community, including through audio-visual link. Responding to enquiries and assisting communication between clients and lawyers. Assisting with bail proposals, referrals, accommodation and rehabilitation arrangements. Maintaining accurate records, conflict checks and court lists. Supporting bush courts and remote community visits. Providing cultural knowledge and guidance to legal staff. About you Knowledge and understanding of contemporary Aboriginal culture, society and the challenges facing Aboriginal people in the justice system. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. Demonstrated initiative and commitment to high-quality client service. Experience in office procedures, data entry and file management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment. Willingness to travel to remote communities and assist with bush courts. A current NT driver’s licence (4WD clearance), Ability to obtain an Ochre Card and pass a criminal history check.
