PM Kennedy is a well-established land surveying and planning consultancy with over 45 years of industry credibility across Victoria. As the business enters its next phase of growth, we are deliberately strengthening our leadership structure.
We are now seeking a Head of Survey Operations - a senior, people-first leader who will take ownership of survey operations, build depth across the team, enhancing strategy to consistent, high-quality delivery.
This is a purpose-built leadership position created to shape how the business operates as it scales.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role sits at the heart of the business.
You will lead the Survey Operations function end-to-end, overseeing people, performance, systems and delivery; while enabling the Managing Director to focus on long-term strategy, growth and market leadership.
You will:
Lead and develop senior surveying professionals
Strengthen systems, workflows and operational discipline
Build capability, depth and future leaders within the team
Act as a visible leader and ambassador for the business
Statutory surveying responsibilities and technical sign-off remain with Licensed Surveyors.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
Lead People & Culture
Lead, mentor and develop survey managers, licensed surveyors and field teams
Build a values-led, accountable and high-performing culture
Create depth through coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer
Drive Operational Excellence
Oversee survey operations to ensure consistency, efficiency and quality
Improve systems, workflows, resourcing and delivery frameworks
Drive accountability for deadlines, budgets and outcomes
Connect Strategy to Delivery
Translate business strategy into clear operational plans and measurable results
Partner closely with the Managing Director and Business Development leadership
Use insight, data and judgment to guide continuous improvement
Represent the Business
Act as a senior representative of PM Kennedy with clients and industry peers
Participate in industry events, forums and thought leadership initiatives
Help strengthen the firm’s profile as a respected leader in Victorian surveying
About You
You are a confident, grounded leader who enjoys responsibility and influence. You bring:
Senior leadership or operations experience in surveying, construction, property, engineering or professional services
Strong people leadership skills and high emotional intelligence
Commercial and operational acumen
Clear, calm and credible communication style
Confidence representing a business with clients and industry stakeholders
You are organised, decisive and comfortable leading senior professionals through change and growth.
