Position Overview
We're seeking a passionate, qualifiedChefto lead our kitchen, working closely with the owners as part of a family-friendly team. You will craft seasonal café and bistro-style dishes that reflect our relaxed bookish charm and uphold quality standards across daily specials and dinner menus.
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen management: Plan, prep, and elevate daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus (including pasta, schnitzels, lamb shanks, soups, etc.) .
Team leadership: Supervise kitchen crew, maintain a positive, collaborative culture.
Quality control: Ensure food presentation, taste, portion size, and timeliness exceed café standards.
Procurement: Coordinate ordering, manage food costs, and monitor stock & inventory.
Compliance & safety: Uphold HACCP, food safety standards, kitchen hygiene, and equipment maintenance.
Event & bistro support: Partner with our events team upstairs (The Manor) on private functions, dinners, and tasting nights .
About You
Qualified chef with at least 2 years' experience in café, bistro or restaurant kitchens.
Creative, flexible, and passionate about seasonal, quality-driven food.
Proven leadership skills with a collaborative, personable style.
Excellent time management and ability to adapt under pressure.
Commitment to food safety, cost control, and sustainability.
What We Offer
Full-time position (minimum 38 hours/week) with competitive salary: $76,600–$80,000 per annum.
