About the Role
Gippsland Critical Minerals (GCM) is seeking an experiences Senior Engineer to lead thetechnicalplanning, design, and executing of theFingerboardsCriticalMinerals Project – one ofVictoria’smore advanced rare-earth and mineral sands developments.
This leadership role oversees mine design, process optimisation, and commissioning, ensuring that the integration of mining, processing, and environmentalsystemsto meet GCM’s safety, sustainability, and operational excellence goals.You’llplay a key role in shaping a project that supportsVictoria’srenewable and critical minerals future.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of mine designs, pit layouts, and long-term production schedules.
* Overseemine optimisation studies, resource modelling, and sequencingto maximise safety and efficiency.
* Direct the preparation oftechnical documentation, performance analyses, and engineering reports.
* Provide expert input intocost estimation, capital planning, and risk management.
* Drivecontinuous improvement and innovationin mine design, planning, and operations.
* Coordinatemultidisciplinaryengineering teams andcontractorsacross mining, processing, and infrastructure workstreams.
* Monitor projectprogress,budget, and performance metrics, deliverytimelyreportsto senior management,
* Support procurement, equipment specification, and construction readiness planning,
* Collaborate withenvironmental and community teamsto embed sustainability and rehabilitation principles in engineering outcomes.
* Represent GCM intechnical discussions, regulatory submissions, and stakeholder consultations.
About You
You’rea technically strong and collaborative leader who canbalancestrategic vision with hands-on problem solving.You’llthrive in arole that combines engineering leadership, operationalexcellence, and sustainable integration.
Essential
* Bachelor’s degree inMining, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
* 8+ years’ experiencein mining or mineral processing (preferably mineral sands orrare earths).
* Proven experience inengineering design, commissioning, and project delivery.
* Proficiencyinmine planning and design software(Vulcan,Surpac, Whittle, or similar).
* Strong technical understanding ofprocess design, material handling, and infrastructure systems.
* Excellentleadership, communication, and stakeholder engagementskills.
* Willing to work regionally and travel to the project site asrequired.
Desirable
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)or equivalent accreditation.
* Project management qualifications(e.g.,PMP, Prince2).
* Familiarity withVictorian mining legislationand environmental permitting.
* Experience integratingsustainability and rehabilitation design principles.
