Job Description:
Emergency communication strategies play a crucial role in saving lives during wildfire events. As a Wildfire Research Expert, you will lead impactful research to analyze the information received by residents and tourists before and during the 2023 wildfires in Maui. Your findings will guide future strategies for wildfire-prone communities worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
* Recruit participants for semi-structured interviews to analyze the range and impact of information available during the wildfire event.
* Conduct qualitative data analysis and report results through project reports, journal articles, policy briefs, and presentations.
* Develop high-quality research projects aligned with RMIT's focus areas, build productive research networks, and produce impactful research outputs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Evidence of experience in social science research methods, particularly qualitative research methods.
* Ability to work autonomously while demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork, effective communication, and collaboration with colleagues, project leaders, and industry partners.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage varying workloads, and respond to changing priorities.
* Clear communication of research results, concepts, and knowledge in high-quality research outputs.
