Job Title: Senior Oracle Database Administrator
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Oracle Database Administrator to manage, optimize and support Oracle environments on Exadata Appliances.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability and security of critical database systems while driving automation and operational excellence within a collaborative technical team.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer, configure and maintain Oracle Databases on Exadata Appliances.
* Manage Oracle 19c, Data Guard, RAC and ASM environments.
* Monitor system performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and other tools.
* Perform database performance tuning including query optimization, indexing and resource management.
* Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies.
* Ensure compliance with database security best practices - access control, encryption and auditing.
* Develop and maintain automation scripts using SQL, PL/SQL and Linux shell scripting.
* Manage batch scheduling and automation experience with Autosys highly desirable.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external Service Providers to resolve issues and deliver enhancements.
* Provide expert advice on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Autonomous Database management where required.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Proven expertise with Oracle Databases on Exadata Appliances.
* Strong technical knowledge of Oracle 19c, Data Guard, RAC and ASM.
* Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting capabilities.
* Experience with backup, recovery and database security management.
* Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and Linux shell scripting for automation.
* Experience with Azure DevOps / Autosys or other scheduling tools highly regarded.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
