Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the financial strength, integrity, and long-term sustainability of Suncare. This is a broad, hands-on leadership position responsible for financial governance, compliance, and statutory reporting, while acting as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board. You’ll provide strategic insights that shape service delivery, growth opportunities, and investment decisions to support outstanding care and services.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the CEO, CFO, ELT, and Board.
- Drive continuous improvement in finance systems, processes, and ERP optimisation.
- Lead compliance with regulatory frameworks, audit processes, and financial risk management.
- Provide financial modelling and analysis to support new initiatives and service expansion.
- Lead treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and investment strategies.
- Build, coach, and inspire a collaborative, high-performing finance team.
About You / Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with CA/CPA membership.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally in aged care, health, not-for-profit, or other regulated sectors.
- Demonstrated expertise in statutory reporting, audit and risk oversight, and financial strategy.
- Experience leading finance teams, uplifting capability, and driving process/system improvements.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, Corporations Act, ACNC requirements, and funding frameworks.
- Advanced ERP and Excel capability, with a track record of turning financial data into clear, actionable insights.
A robust understanding of aged care or community services funding models will be highly regarded, as will experience preparing Board and Committee reports in a governance-driven environment.
