The Area Sales Manager - Retail, plays a pivotal role in our organization, overseeing and driving the retail sales operations in the Sydney area across our Metro stores (more planned). This role requires a dynamic and results-driven individual who can lead a team of Retail sales professionals, meet sales targets, and foster strong relationships with retail partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of retail sales representatives.
- Set clear sales targets and KPIs for the team.
- Provide coaching and guidance to improve sales performance.
- Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Identify market trends and opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Create and maintain a sales plan for the Retail estate.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Be a point of escalation for any customer concerns or issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Represent head office in the field - guaranteeing effective communication amongst all team members and head office.
- Sales Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Regularly review sales reports and make data-driven decisions.
- Implement corrective actions to improve sales performance.
- Monitoring and establishing Best in Class store presentation and merchandising.
- Product Knowledge:
- Stay updated on product features, benefits, and pricing.
- Train the sales team on product knowledge and ensure they are equipped to answer customer inquiries.
- Full market overview and expertise on the competitor landscape
- Budget Management:
- Manage the sales budget for the Sydney area.
- Control expenses and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Reporting:
- Provide regular sales reports and updates to senior management.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities and report findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in retail sales management, with a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of the retail industry and market trends.
- Proficient in using sales and CRM software.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to travel within the Sydney area as needed.
