Role Description:
This is a senior Finance position that supports the performance management and reporting functions of the business by providing business information to meet statutory requirements and assist in decision making
Responsibilities:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Preparation of monthly management reports
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Variance analysis and expense analysis
- Preparation of BAS, FBT and Payroll Tax.
- Management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Providing leadership and mentoring to junior staff members
- Liaising with numerous external stakeholders
- Provide specialist advice and support on performance management processes to contribute to the development, review and coordination of performance monitoring, review and reporting systems
- Analyse performance against expectations and targets in critical performance and risk areas
- Maintain effective communication and liaison with all stakeholders
- Conduct research and analysis of performance data, processes, reports and internal policy to contribute to driving performance and accountability within the organisation
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years experience in Financial Analysis or a Financial Business Partner role in a commercial operations setting
- Experience in financial governance is essential
- Experience in statutory accounting
- Strong analytical skills
- Extensive experience and knowledge of best practice in financial reporting and governance
- Proven experience in optimising commercial operations by improving processes including reducing duplication, increasing standardisation and leveraging technology solutions
- Systems knowledge and experience in SAP
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience in report building
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner and influence business decision makers
- Experience in analysis and reporting to senior executives, finance committees etc
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or related, or equivalent experience
- CPA or CA qualifications an advantage
- NSW government experience highly desired
