Business operations manager – national service

TMR Recruitment Pty
Posted: 9 February
Offer description

Most "operations manager" jobs are about firefighting and reporting. This one? You're being lined up to run the national service game. Genuine succession planning, full mentoring and the keys to the P&L.

Why Consider

* Package: $130K–$150K base plus car allowance, fuel card, E-tag and a results-driven incentive scheme.
* Scope: Direct P&L accountability across service operations in NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT, WA, NT and New Zealand.
* Flexibility: Sydney based, with work-from-home flexibility while you establish NSW operations, then travel nationally.
* Progression: This isn't filling a gap. It's a transition plan. You'll be groomed to take over, with structured handover and support.
* Employer: A global market leader in industrial cooling technology, pushing innovation and growth across ANZ.

Your First 12 Months – Clear Wins

From day one, you'll have a roadmap. Your success starts with building trust with customers and regional service leaders who are already in place. From there, you'll be responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow service revenue in line with the business's annual plans. Alongside this, you'll nurture and expand the existing service partner network and maintain strong connections with equipment sales customers. These relationships form the backbone of future growth.

What You'll Actually Do

This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll oversee service delivery across multiple states and New Zealand, coaching regional leaders and driving operational efficiency. Commercial responsibility sits firmly with you - owning budgets, keeping an eye on profitability, and making the calls that directly impact your incentive earnings. It's a balance of strategy and execution: shaping the future of the operation while dealing with the day-to-day realities of field service.

Who We're Looking For

We want service operations leaders, not manufacturing managers.

Specifically:

* Major mechanical contractors with established service divisions

* Service operations managers from HVAC/industrial cooling OEMs

* Ambitious service managers from closely related industries ready for national responsibility

HVAC/chiller experience is helpful but not essential - this is about managing field service teams, not technical expertise. What matters is your understanding of site-based service delivery, customer relationship management and driving recurring revenue through service excellence.

If your background is manufacturing operations rather than field service management, this isn't the right fit. If you're ready to move beyond "keeping the lights on" and take ownership of a national service portfolio, apply now.
