Key Responsibilities as a Cook
Prepare gourmet meals specifically designed for airline customers, working closely with the culinary team to offer a wide range of delicious options while adhering to in-flight dining requirements.
Ensure all meals are prepared and presented with precision and elegance, with attention to detail and a passion for culinary arts.
Work efficiently under pressure, maintaining high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
Collaborate on menu development and refinement.
Monitor inventory and assist in ordering supplies.
Train and mentor junior cooks.
Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
Coordinate with procurement and logistics for timely ingredient delivery.
Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques.
Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
Compensation
Salary: $23.50 per hour, influenced by experience and other factors.
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in culinary or 2+ years of high-volume or airline catering experience.
Proven experience as a Cook or Chef.
Strong culinary knowledge and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Flexibility for various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Valid food handler's certificate or equivalent.
Additional Information
Position requires continuous multi-tasking, attention to detail, punctuality, and adherence to safety procedures. Work is indoors with variable noise levels. Physical demands include standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
