About You
As the Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting a high-performing Strategic Communications team, which exists to develop and deliver storytelling content that amplifies our brand, elevates our case for support, and demonstrates the value we deliver for the Victorian community and the creative industries we are here to serve.
The primary purpose of the Communications Coordinator is to provide administrative and project support to the Strategic Communications team core functions in internal and external communications activity and outputs, and administrative, coordination and delivery support for opening nights and stakeholder events. The role requires a strong communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, enabling them to manage tasks, resources, and timelines effectively. They are dependable, detail-oriented, and have a talent for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure success.
This position requires a relevant tertiary qualification in communications and/or a minimum of 3 years' experience in communications, storytelling, engagement, culture and change communications.
Full-time fixed-term position to June ****. Salary band 3.1 $78,****** p.a. plus superannuation.

There are changes happening at Arts Centre Melbourne inside and out as the organisation undergoes a period of transformation. As a central part of the Victorian Government's vision to transform the Melbourne Arts Precinct, join a team of talented and persuasive communicators managing change and ensuring our varied stakeholders are informed, engaged and connected as the institution they love goes through the biggest changes in its 40+ year history. The Strategic Communications team is responsible for external and internal communications, narrative and storytelling, strategic and campaign-based media, leadership positioning, reputation and issues management, change communications, internal culture, publications and stakeholder engagement.
Through excellent communication in multiple channels to a diversity of audiences, the team builds a compelling narrative around Arts Centre Melbourne's purpose, impact and value to the people of Victoria and the creative industries, and in generating advocacy for the Reimagining Arts Centre Melbourne project, central to the Victorian Government's Melbourne Arts Precinct Transformation.
Arts Centre Melbourne acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we gather, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung. We also acknowledge the neighbouring Kulin Nation groups, the Boonwurrung and Bunurong people, and pay our respects to elders, past and present.
