**What you'll like about the role**
This is an exciting, pivotal role within our Advisory Group, with this next phase expected to see substantial growth over the next two years.
As the General Manager of the AU Advisory Practice, you will be leading the Australian Advisory business which includes the services of planning, project strategy and delivery, management consulting and the emerging service area of "sustainability". You will report to the Group Director of Advisory, Amelia Linzey, and be accountable for the Australian Advisory business performance. This is a key role in the Advisory Group Leadership Team and will work closely with the Australian Leadership Team (ALT), to support the FY26 AU Strategy and overall Group strategies.
With a strong preference for this role to be based in Canberra to support the planned growth of our business, particularly in Advisory and Defence and National Security. It is an exciting opportunity to shape both the Advisory services and provide Beca market leadership across the Canberra team. Key to success, will also be to build strong working relationships with the Au GM Clients & Markets and other Business line GMs, to integrate and leverage best practice Advisory services across relevant Australian delivery programs.
The GM position will be a role model supporting Beca initiatives, change projects and strategic business direction. Success will require you to actively grow and develop the team around you, building an inclusive and enabling culture and growing a profitable business focused on long-term sustainable growth.
The nature of the role will require frequent travel to support client and cross-business collaboration, balanced with our commitment to business carbon emissions targets.

You career so far will have given you a thorough knowledge of this sector, and ideally have the industry profile and credibility to support both senior level client relationships and lead our group of Advisory industry professionals. You will be able to demonstrate success in leading large and geographically spread teams, including a sound understanding of business management, financial systems, commercial contracts and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
