The role of Materials Engineer involves providing technical expertise for construction material selection, assessment and durability for structural engineering projects.
About the Position
This is a permanent full-time opportunity requiring a strong technical foundation in Materials / Civil / Structural engineering.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct assessments of structures consisting of concrete, steel and other materials to determine their condition.
* Perform site inspections and prepare detailed inspection reports.
* Develop specifications for remedial work that include advice on material type and selection.
* Create plans for enhancing the durability of major infrastructure projects.
* Evaluate environmental exposure classes for concrete and steel elements to ensure they meet industry standards.
* Collaborate with project teams and other disciplines for design coordination and project delivery.
* Assist with proposal development and submission for structural and multidisciplinary projects.
About You
* You should have a tertiary qualification in Materials/Structural/Civil Engineering or a related field.
* A minimum of 3 years' relevant postgraduate experience is required, preferably in materials assessment, selection and inspection within various structures and environments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
